Established by the United Nations in 1958 as one of the five Regional Commissions, ECA's (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa) task is to promote the economic and social development of the 54 State Members, to encourage internal integration and to support international cooperation for Africa's Development.
An ambitious international project born from ECA's need to update itself. ECA wanted a change, they wanted an evolution in the history of the Commission. So they launched a project to renew their web presence and make the content accessible in English and French, Africa's two institutional languages.
Sixeleven responded by creating a bilingual site in record time. In just four weeks of hard teamwork ECA's new corporate website went online. The website was built on an open source platform Drupal which, thanks to its versatility, allowed the construction of a complex architecture in a short time.
Sixeleven also conceived and carried out the new look and feel, inspired by flat design, a concept that aims to bring out the elements while maintaining an easy-to-read esthetic.
The first part of the goal has been achieved with great success but the work and our commitment isn't finished yet. In the next few months the website will be developed further and new content will be added.
